Titanium Lap Joint Flanges are mainly made up of titanium alloys such as Grade 2 (commercially pure titanium) or Grade 5 (Ti-6Al-4V). Grade 2 titanium is made up of about 99.2% titanium with small levels of carbon, iron, and other impurities. Grade 5 titanium, an alloy of 90% titanium, 6% aluminum, and 4% vanadium, has improved strength and corrosion resistance. It has a tensile strength of about 344 MPa, yield strength of 275 MPa, and an elongation of 20%, which is a strength-ductility balance appropriate for many industrial uses.
