Titanium Flat Flanges consist mainly of titanium alloys, of which Grade 2 (UNS R50400) has a minimum of 99.2% titanium while Grade 5 (UNS R56400) has 90% titanium, in addition to aluminum (6%) and vanadium (4%). Grade 2 flanges also contain trace amounts of carbon, iron, hydrogen, nitrogen, and oxygen. These alloys provide superior corrosion resistance, good strength-to-weight ratio, and excellent weldability, and hence are used in demanding applications across industries. Grade 2 flanges have a tensile strength of 344 MPa and yield strength of 275 MPa, whereas Grade 5 flanges have a tensile strength of 950 MPa and yield strength of 880 MPa. Such properties maintain durability and reliability under high-pressure and high-temperature conditions.
