Stainless Steel 347 Flanges consist mainly of iron, with alloying elements consisting of chromium (17–19%), nickel (9–13%), and niobium (0.1–1.0%). The low carbon level (≤0.08%) is beneficial for weldability and minimizes carbide precipitation on welding. The mechanical properties consist of tensile strength of around 515 MPa, yield strength of about 205 MPa, and elongation of 40%, with an ideal combination of strength and ductility ideal for most industrial applications. These characteristics provide toughness and resistance to deformation under load.
