Stainless Steel 321 Flanges consist mainly of iron, with chromium (17–19%), nickel (9–12%), and titanium (at least 5 times the carbon content) as the major alloying elements. The low carbon content (≤0.08%) improves weldability and minimizes carbide precipitation upon welding. Mechanical properties consist of a tensile strength of around 515 MPa, yield strength of about 205 MPa, and elongation of 40%, which gives a strength versus ductility balance appropriate for most industrial applications. These properties make it durable and resistant to deformation under stress.
