316L Stainless Steel Flanges are mainly iron with chromium (16–18%), nickel (10–14%), and molybdenum (2–3%) as the major alloying elements. The low carbon level (≤0.035%) increases weldability and inhibits carbide precipitation on welding. The mechanical properties are tensile strength of about 515 MPa, yield strength of about 205 MPa, and elongation of 35%, giving a strength-ductility balance necessary for many industrial applications. These attributes guarantee durability and resistance against deformation under stress.
