Monel RTJ flanges consist mainly of nickel (63–70%) and copper (28–34%), with minor iron (≤2.5%), manganese (≤2%), silicon (≤0.5%), carbon (≤0.3%), and sulfur (≤0.024%) content. This gives the excellent corrosion resistance, especially in marine and acidic conditions. Mechanical properties are a tensile strength of around 485 MPa, yield strength of about 170 MPa, and an elongation of 35%, offering balance of ductility and strength that is relevant to industrial uses.
