Chromium (2–9%), molybdenum (0.5–1.2%), nickel, manganese, carbon, silicon, phosphorus, and sulphur make up alloy steel long weld neck flanges. Under high temperatures, this composition offers exceptional strength, superior corrosion resistance, and creep resistance. Mechanically, these flanges have a minimum yield strength of 275 MPa, a tensile strength of 485–620 MPa, and an elongation of about 20%.
