An alloy comprising nickel (32–38%), chromium (19–21%), molybdenum (2–3%), copper (3–4%), iron, carbon, manganese, silicon, phosphorus, and sulphur is used to make Alloy 20 Flat Flanges. Excellent resistance to sulphuric acid, chloride stress corrosion, cracking, and pitting is offered by this composition. Alloy 20 has a mechanical tensile strength of 551 MPa, a yield strength of 241 MPa, and an elongation of about 30%. Strong, leak-proof connections in systems with moderate and low pressure are made possible by the flat design, which also maintains excellent mechanical strength and resistance to corrosion.
